Bonkers is a famous TV star in Hollywood, but he gets laid off
and goes to work as a policeman. In later episodes
his partner is Miranda Wright.
Miranda Wright is supposed to be serious, hard-working and
kind-hearted, but to me she seemed like a stick-in-the-mud.
Her voice is done by Karla DeVito.
The initial writers of the show used Miranda as Bonker's partner. But, apparently, the writing team didn't work out and was replaced. The new team gave Bonkers a different partner, Lucky Piquel, and set up the show's timeline such that Lucky is Bonker's first partner. So the Lucky episodes were aired first, even though the Miranda episodes were written first.
The voice of Bonkers and his partner, Lucky Piquel, were done by Jim Cummings, who has done many, many cartoon voices, including Winnie the Pooh (the new one), Darkwing Duck, Barry (sidekick of The Tic), and Morocco Mole.
