Miranda Galadriel Capra
Miranda's Miranda Fest
Miranda as a name for US female babies entered the top-1000 list in the 60s.
It peaked in popularity at 57th most popular in 1995,
but it really started to go down after 1998.
That was the year HBO's Sex in the City
debuted, with Miranda as a main character.
How high would it have gone without this show? We'll never know.
For more details see my popularity page.
I'd also like to welcome any visitors with Miranda-related names:
Maranda, Meranda, Myranda, Mirandi, or anything else!
I'm always looking for
more Miranda trivia, so if you have any drop me an email.
(I used to have a guestbook, but it got too much spam.)
I have several topics that interested me so much, or I was able
to find so much material about, that I made separate pages for them
I also have several pages with lots of Mirandas I've found, organized
into categories
- Miscellaneous - this is the best, and by
far the most fun section, with
everything from plants to animals to flatware to drinks
- Media - plays, movies, TV shows, books, poetry, songs and music (but not musicians)
- Places - cities, counties, roads and attractions
- Famous People - historical figures, actors and actresses, musicians and music groups, and more
My nickname in late elementary school was Randy, or sometimes Rand,
and my nickname in college was Mir. (Other Mirandas have written to
say that their nickname was Randi, Randa, Ran, Mandy, Mandi, Mirry, Mirsy, Mimi, Mim,
Mimikins, My-Randa, Pandy, Panda, Mirt, Maz, Miz.)
So how could my Miranda page possibly be
complete without a list of Mir links?
(This page also explains the history behind how I got the nickname "Mir".)
